Many of the municipal water sources are pulled from the ground and then stored/ filtered before distributions. This filtration however involves taking out toxic gases, metals and other harmful minerals. This is often accomplished with more chemicals and other additives such as pfas, chlorine, fluoride and more. The most common result of this we are finding is PFAS. PFAS are nearly indestructible chemicals) referred to as "forever chemicals" that build up in human bodies, increasing the individuals risk for major health concerns including multiple type of cancers.
